Wow. That sounds so bleak! In the spirit of bleakness, you could say that many things that we do are just as pointless as planting a garden with a poison cloud approaching. I mean, we do a lot of things that will mean nothing when we die, like stress out over paint colors for the kitchen. I'm torn between thinking that creature comforts (like cool interior design) add true value to my life and feeling guilty about not spending that time with my kids or helping the homeless or something. At the same time, there is definitely comfort in sameness and routine. I think I would still follow the routine to maintain sanity, even with a cloud of nuclear unpleasantness on the horizon.


By the way, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee in your masthead up there are quite terrifying. I'm going to see their faces on the back of my eyelids tonight.
