Lost: The End.

I'm sorry this is late, but last night ran late & my mind was mush. Did I like how it ended? Yes. Was I still confused? Yes.

1. I loved how they tied all the people back together. I cried at the scene with Charlie and Claire.
2. Quotes I liked, Hugo - "Kind of true dude, he's worse than Yoda." Sawyer - "I'll go get the magic Leprechaun out of the well," and Miles - "I don't believe in a lot of things, but I do believe in duct tape."
3. Not surprised Juliet was Jack's ex-wife.
4. The scene with Smoke-Locke dying was a little boring. Why did he lose his powers? All this effort leading up to the big fight and it just sort of ended flat.
5. I didn't understand the end - "This is a place you all made together so you could find one another." Then why was Mrs. Hawking against them meeting? Why was she there? Why would Jack be married to Juliet?
6. When Jack's Dad goes into the light, I assume this means he is moving on - are the rest of them too? Why did Ben stay behind?
7. I loved the way they tied the end with Jack dying in the same spot he ended up starting at. The eye close was perfect.
8. I want to know what you thought? What would have made this better? Do you need therapy now that Lost is over? I feel good about the end & ready to leave it behind. This year seemed to drag on too much & all good things must end. Bravo to the writers of Lost!

Lost: What they Died for

I don't want to complain about Lost anymore...I've enjoyed the show and while some episodes were blah, most were interesting. I do miss the days of the whispers in the forest and people being stolen in the middle of the night, but all good things must come to an end. Tonight did make me excited for Sunday...

1. Jack wakes up with blood on his neck - the worlds are getting closer. I can't wait to see who Jack's wife is. Any guesses?
2. Desmond beats up Ben again & tells him he is there to get Locke to "let go."
3. This concert at the museum is going to be interesting - all of them will be there.
4. Ben - he is evil again? I kind of like it. When Widmore whispers in Smoke-Locke's ear the purpose of Desmond, Ben shoots him.
5. Jack, Hurley, Sawyer & Kate get to have a little campfire with Jacob. He tells Kate the reason her name was crossed of the list was because she became a mother...lame! What about the Kwon's becoming parents?
6. They were all chosen because they are losers. Nothing special, just they have nothing to live for, so they can sit around protecting the cave of mysterious light.
7. Jack agrees to take Jacob's place & drinks the water Jacob mumbles over. He tells Jack the cave is by the bamboo field he was in when he first got to the island.
8. Desmond gets Kate & Sayid out of jail with the help of Hurley & Anna Lucia. He hands Kate a dress for the concert.
9. Smoke-Locke tells Ben that he is going to use Desmond to destroy the island.
10. How do you think this will end? Who is Jack's wife? Why does Locke have to let go?

Lost: Across the Sea

My mind is spinning from tonight's episode....

1. Did we ever learn the MIB's name? I couldn't hear what his Mother said after she gave birth to him.
2. I hate it when they give the "evil" person a reason to be bad. Can't bad just be bad?
3. The MIB appears to know things like his mother. Similar to Desmond?
4. Interesting conversation between MIB and his mom, "Jacob doesn't know how to lie, not like you." "What am I like?" "You're special."
5. I was a little disappointed in the big secret of the island - it seemed a bit cheesy - the flashlight shining out of the cave. "This little bit of light is inside all of us. If the light goes out here, it goes out everywhere."
6. The MIB goes to live with the other people on the island and they are building a well and wheel. Mom doesn't like it, so she knocks him out, kills everyone and burns the camp. This is after she has Jacob drink from the strange bottle of wine, "Now you and I are the same."
7. MIB kills Mom, but I thought it was odd that she said, "thank you." When Jacob sees what he has done, he throws his brother into the tunnel of light and the smoke monster appears. He puts the white and black stone in the cave with the bodies and there they sit until Jack and Kate find them.
8. I have to sit and think about this episode before deciding if I liked it or not. We did get answers, but I don't see why this episode is being played now.

Lost: The Candidate

I'm struggling to describe what tonight's episode was. It's moving too fast now; planes, bombs, submarines, jungle running...

1. In sideways world, Jack wants to operate on Locke - calls him a candidate. Locke says no and we later find out that he took flying lessons and crashed the plane with his father in it. Now his father is in a vegetative state & Locke wants to stay in the wheelchair for punishment.
2. Why was Kate on the list, but then her name was scratched off?
3. Bernard appeared as a doctor - he seemed like he knew what was going on when he said to Jack, "Maybe you are onto something there." "I hope you find what you are looking for."
4. I'm surprised it was so easy for Smoke-Locke to break into Widmore's camp. Sayid flipped a switch, the oooooooooooo noise came & they were on the sub.
5. Interesting conversation between Jack and Claire - what was the song on the music box? I liked the shot of both of them looking into the mirror.
6. They get on the submarine without Smoke-Locke or Claire and they discover the bomb that he planted. Jack believes that he can't kill them, but he can set it up so they kill themselves. Sawyer doesn't buy it, pulls the wires & it's sad music time. Sayid ends up being a hero. Poor Frank, Sun & Jin.
7. Desmond is still alive in the well - Sayid told Jack to find him.
8. In sideways world, Jack tells Locke the same thing Locke wrote to Jack, "I wish you believed me." Locke was also having button pushing dreams.
9. For some reason Smoke-Locke knows when the submarine sinks & also knows that they are not all dead & he is going to "Finish what I started."
10. Next week's episode appears to be about the Man in Black and Jacob - white/black stuff. I have no idea how this will end and I am confused by what the sideways world is. Will they manage to turn back time and Widmore & Mrs. Hawking have to erase their memories with a light stick and set them up in new jobs?  Is this why Desmond is so important?

Lost: The Last Recruit

I feel a little negative about Lost right now...all the coincidences are tiring & at this point I just want it to end, even if Smoke-Locke ends up being an alien from V and Muppet face Juliet gets her coffee.

1. I found it interesting when Sun saw John Locke being wheeled into the hospital she said, "It's him." Him as in smoke monster?
2. Hurley, "You can always bring people back from the dark side." or don't worry about Claire or Sayid, they will be happy in the end.
3. Coincidences - Sawyer arrests Kate, Desmond helps Claire with a lawyer (Ilana) who happens to be meeting with Jack - who gets a phone call to operate on Locke while Sun and Jin are in the hospital. Sawyer arrests Sayid.
4. Widmore's people want Desmond back and show they mean business by dropping a bomb. Smoke-Locke doesn't seem afraid of the bombs as we see later when he is just standing on the beach while everyone else drops to the ground.
5. Jack is the last recruit? Claire told him, "You decided the moment you let him talk to you." Why is Smoke-Locke so concerned with Jack?
6. Sayid was supposed to kill Desmond, but I don't think he did. He is now waiting to see if Smoke-Locke produces his zombie wife.
7. The smoke monster was Jack & Claire's Dad - why didn't he just keep that body?
8. The episode ends with Smoke-Locke saving Jack and the other group being held at gunpoint by Widmore's people. Sun sees Jin and they kiss, and she can speak English again. I thought she was going to get zapped by the fence, but no. It's time to finish this story and stop with the numbers and odd chance meetings - we get it. Adding things like the boy in the jungle and Sun losing her English is just distracting. Fix Claire's hair, take Sawyer's shirt off and let them run around the jungle shooting at things.

Lost: Everyone Loves Hugo

I love Hugo.

1. The episode begins with Hurley at a fancy dinner with the Dharma guy I can't remember the name of, thanking him for his donation for the palaeontology wing. Strange how connected they are to this museum.
2. We finally get to see Libby, who remembers their time on the island and tells Hurley about it.
3. Ilana blew up & then Hurley blew up the ship because Michael told him to. o.k.
4. Best Hurley line, "Clearly she is well enough for a fajita field trip."
5. Hurley gets to have his picnic with Libby & when she kisses him he gets the flashes from the island. It's interesting that Desmond didn't tell Hurley anything, just told him to go with his gut.
6. The whispering voices secret - Michael tells Hurley that he is stuck on the island and can't move on because of what he did. I thought the voices started when the Others appeared?
7. I think going to Smoke-Locke's camp may not be the best idea, especially after he pushes Desmond down the well. Why didn't he just kill him? Does it have something to do with the creepy boy? Who is he? Why did it bother Smoke-Locke that Desmond wasn't afraid?
8. I was shocked when Desmond ran over Locke. If he killed him, what does this mean? Is Desmond the only one who can change what happens?
9. Sayid's perm and crazy eyes are driving me, well crazy.
10. I'm not sure where this is going. Will it end with the candidates killing Smoke-Locke and then cheering on the plane or sub? Will everything turn into a mess, but in the sideways world they figure out how to change things? Which world is real? Are they trapped on the island like Michael?

Next week - spooky music & crazy Claire...

Lost; Happily Ever After

I'm happy. I will admit that I have a little crush on the character Desmond, so this may have swayed my opinion of tonight's episode, but it's in my top 5.

1. I missed the first few minutes of the episode, but it seems they were testing a machine that emits electricity? When someone tries to test the machine, which looks like Jacob's cabin, he dies. Who is next? Desmond.
2. Widmore explains to Desmond that he is going to ask him for a sacrifice and if he doesn't help him it everyone will be gone. He wants to see what happens if they have a catastrophic electromagnetic event and since Desmond is the only one who has survived one, he gets to be the white rabbit.
3. Desmond in the airport, sees Hurley & Claire.
4. Shocked that he was Widmore's right hand man. Widmore hands him a glass of his expensive scotch and says, "Nothing is too good for you." He wants Desmond to babysit Charlie so he can play at his son's party. His son the musician.
5. Charlie tells Desmond that when he was choking on the plane he saw a blond girl and they are together "like we've always been and always will be." "I've seen the truth." To prove his point Charlie pulls the car off a bridge into the water. When Desmond saw the flash of his hand, I had goosebumps & yes, it is a bit hokey, but I miss the episodes that weren't focusing on Smokelocke.
6. They end up in the hospital & Desmond has an MRI and sees flashes of Penny. He catches Charlie & asks him, "Who is Penny?" Charlie, "You felt it." "None of this matters. All that matters is we felt it."
7. Oh but they don't stop there, now Desmond must tell Mrs. Widmore that Drive Shaft can't make it to the party. Mrs. Hawking...when Desmond asks about Penny she tells him, "Whatever it is you need to stop looking for it...you have the perfect life & attained the thing you wanted most, my husband's approval. You are not ready yet, Desmond."
8. At this point I don't know what to think & they they throw Daniel in the mix. Daniel who is a musician, yet manages to write some quantum mechanics in his notebook (real space imaginary time) - THE notebook...he also has a flash of some redhead who eats chocolate before dinner & has bloody noses. He tells Desmond the only way to stop it is to release a huge amount of energy - like a nuclear bomb..."What if this wasn't supposed to be our life...What if we changed things." "I think I already did."
9. Eye roll - Penny is Daniel's half sister & he tells Desmond where to meet her. He faints, goes back to the island, back to Penny, back to the island & tells Widmore he will help him. I couldn't tell if he was a bit fried, because a few minutes later he agrees to leave with Sayid?
10. So what does this mean? I have no idea, but I will guess. Either what we are seeing is their lives while they are on the island - Widmore/Hawking's group set up their imaginary reality with things that would make them happy - Widmore's approval for Desmond, Jack - family, Locke - love, not sure what Kate's is, Daniel - music, Sawyer - good...the problem is maybe this isn't what they really want & destiny cannot be avoided. Or this reality is what happens after they do whatever they are planning on doing now with Smokelocke.
11. I'm very interested to see what Desmond does with the manifest for flight 815. "I need to show them something."
12. I've always felt that in the pilot episode Jack's eye opening in the jungle seemed odd - like he was there before. The Dark Tower series has been mentioned as an important book for Lost & the main character basically repeats his life. I don't think they are repeating things, but do they go back and either set off or not set off the bomb? Is this their choice?

Lost: The Package

Tonight Sun & Jin...

1. The first thing we learn is all the candidates must leave the island together. Smokelocke wants Sun because he isn't sure if the name written on the cave wall was for Mr. or Mrs. Claire gets a bit nervous and asks him if her name was on the wall - no. She asks about Kate - no, but he needs her to help talk people into joining them, then Claire can fight her again. Smokelocke is mean. Did you notice that he said Kate is not a candidate "anymore," so was she? How did her name get removed?
2. In the Sideways world Sun and Jin are not married - he is her bodyguard. They are lovers and have this dramatic button unbuttoning moment & then Keamy shows up. I almost fell off the couch when they mentioned Mikhail. Customs took away the money Jin was supposed to give Keamy, so they take him to the restaurant while Sun tries to withdrawal funds. Keamy tells Jin the reason he needs the money is because it was payment for killing Jin for dating the boss's daughter. "The heart wants what the heart wants...some people aren't meant to be together."
3. Jin is duct taped to the chair, Sayid kills the people in the kitchen, opens the door & hands Jin the razor. I thought it was rather rude of him not to help out. Mikhail returns with Sun, Jin does some karate, shoots Mikhail IN THE EYE!!! Sun gets shot and then tells Jin she is pregnant.
4. On the island everyone is shot with sleepy darts & they take Jin. Smokelocke goes to the other island to get Jin back and has words with Widmore, "A wise man once said, war was coming to this island...I think it just got here."
5. Jin is being held in the Clockwork Orange room. Widmore shows him the camera Sun had and he gets to see pictures of his daughter. It was a sweet moment, but Widmore tells him, "It will be short lived if that thing gets off this island - everyone would cease to be."
6. Jack gives Sun a stubborn tomato, "Guess no one told it to die."
7. Widmore instructs them to bring the package to the infirmary. Jin asks, "What package." "Not a what, it's a who." At this point I am thinking...Desmond, Daniel, or Aaron?
8. They pull someone drugged out of the sub- Desmond, and he falls down to look at Sayid in the water. He seemed to recognize Sayid...but then maybe not?
9. Smokelocke knew they had something they did not want Sawyer to see - did he sense Desmond?
10. We are left wondering if Sun dies in Sideways world and why Desmond is there? Next week Widmore says, "I'm going to ask you to make a sacrifice, the island is not done with you yet."

Lost; Ab Aeterno

Did you like this episode? I'm still on the fence.

1. Richard is having a breakdown. He tells the castaways, "We are all dead. We are not on an island, we never were, we are in hell."
2. In 1867 Richard's wife is dying. He gets medicine by killing the doctor by accident, but his wife is already dead and he goes to prison. The priest sells him to Mr. Whitfield and is now the property of Magnus Hanso (or was it Hanson).
3. The ship crashes into the statue and breaks it. How did this happen? The Officer of the ship is killing all the slaves when the Smoke Monster arrives. I liked this scene - it reminded me of the old days of Lost.
4. Richard is trapped in the ship; can't get water, sees a pig, and drops his only tool. His wife appears and tells him they are both dead, but she has to save him before the devil appears. The smoke monster arrives and kills her.
5. I was surprised the Man in Black went to Richard first. Did you notice the strange bird or bat that flew into the ship before it rained - was that Jacob? The MIB talks Richard into killing Jacob - he tells Richard that he has his wife.
6. Jacob beats up Richard, dunks his head in the water and they chat. So, Jacob brings people to the island to prove to the MIB that it is not in people's nature to sin. He wants them to help themselves or it is all meaningless. The island is the cork that keeps "the darkness where it belongs." Richard points out that if Jacob doesn't instruct people on what to do, the MIB will. Richard has a new job as Jacob's press secretary.
7. Richard wants his wife back - no, he wants to be absolved of his sins - no, o.k., how about I never want to die - yes, Jacob can do that. He touches him and now we know why Richard doesn't age.
8. Richard returns to the MIB and hands him a white stone. This must be their way of keeping score. If you remember when Smokelocke brought Sawyer to the cave, there was now one white and black stone - the black one for Ben. What about the bodies in the cave with the white and black stones?
9. MIB tells Richard he can always change his mind. Richard wants to take him up on his offer, but Hurley appears and translates what Isabella says. "You have to stop the Man in Black from leaving the island or we all go to hell."
10. The episode ends with Jacob handing the MIB the bottle of wine. He tells him he wants to leave & that is why he wants to kill him. Jacob says someone will take my place and the MIB responds with, "Then I will kill them too." He breaks the bottle of wine with "Sooner than you think."
11. Am I trying to be difficult or is it possible that the MIB is not evil? Is this just a game for Jacob?
12. If the MIB couldn't kill Jacob, does this mean he can't kill the candidates? Is this why when Locke and Kate had encounters with the Smoke Monster, he left them alone?

What are your thoughts? Do you like Jacob? I find Jacob and the MIB suspicious.

Lost; Recon

First, oh Sawyer you are so fine, especially when you brush your hair and put on clean underpants.

1. In Sawyer's sideways life we think he is still a con man. I believed he still was until the police broke through the door. Sawyer the cop with Miles as his partner. Strange.
2. Miles sets him up on a blind date with someone who works in a museum. Could it be? Yes, bloody nose Charlotte. I'm sorry since the nose bleeding, I can't get that out of my head. Oh, and she is a tramp. Sleeps with him on the first date and then asks for a t-shirt, but finds his book of Sawyer and he kicks her out. I thought it was interesting that Miles talked Sawyer into the date by saying, "Do you want to die alone?"
3. Sawyer is still looking for "Sawyer," the man who swindled his mother and caused his parent's deaths. Miles finds out that he was in Australia, two days ago on flight 815. Sawyer looks in the mirror and smashes it. Are these reflections so important? Why do they seem distorted?
4. On the island, Claire is looking at her creepy pretend baby & tells Kate, "It's all I had." I was very disappointed in the fight. I wanted a good Claire/Kate cat fight, but no, Smokelocke pulls Claire off Kate while Sayid just watches because he is all evil.
5. Love when Smokelocke pimp slaps Claire.
6. Smokelocke sends Sawyer to Hydra island where he finds the plane and a pile of dead people. He sees a girl, catches her, but quickly figures out she is lying to him. When he pulls the gun on her, the other people appear & he says, "Alright, you've got me, take me to your leader."
7. On the other island Smokelocke confesses to Kate that his mother was crazy. This seemed strange and out of place...the smoke monster had "growing pains." "He is still trying to work on things." Why is he telling her this? Because "Now Aaron has a crazy mother too."
8. Sawyer goes on the sub and sees a locked door - a new mystery. He meets Widmore and promises him that he will bring Locke to him. Sawyer tells him that he knows he sent the freighter to kill everyone on the island and Widmore responds with, "It's sad actually how little you know." Yes, like us. Now we want to know 1) Did Widmore send the freighter? 2) Who killed the people on the beach 3) Is Ilana working for Widmore? 4) Is this who Jacob said was coming?
9. Sawyer comes back and tells Smokelocke everything. I thought he was serious when he told Widmore he would help him. Smokelocke is pleased. He mentions they are setting up pylons like the Others had to keep the smoke monster out.
10. Flash to sideways world and Sawyer tells Miles the truth; that he has been looking for Anthony Cooper & when he finds him, he is going to kill him. Then a car smashes into them & someone runs out. I think it's Charlie, but it's Kate. Sawyer says, "Son of a bitch."
11. There was mention of Charlie - his brother was in the police station, but Sawyer ignored him.
12. Sawyer has another plan going. He tells Kate that while they are all fighting, "You and me are getting off this island." "We ain't taking the plane Freckles, we are taking the sub." (sigh, he said freckles) (sigh, how is piloting a sub easier than a plane?)
13. Rabbit for dinner, Watership Down on Sawyer's dresser.
14. Next week is the episode we have all been waiting for; Richard reveals he was a Banana Republic model. The title for next week is "Ab Aeterno," which sent me on a 5 second Google search for the Spanish translation, "Since the beginning of time," "Since a very long time." A clip, "I've seen things you could have never imagined." Please, please do not make this a cheesy Land of the Lost, where we see Richard and cavemen and dinosaurs, then running with cowboys.
