I feel like I have nothing to say here lately, but there are some small things I wanted to mention. We've been spending a lot of time outside, which is good, but I miss my blog posting and reading time too.
I read Twilight this weekend. When it first came out I wanted to read it, but I thought it was something for teenagers. The book is not sophisticated literature, but I really liked it and couldn't put it down. It's a great Summer book - something you can read at the beach and be distracted. I would totally date Edward. I believe there is a Facebook group about having unrealistic expectations of men now that you have read Twilight. I can see how that could happen. Why is a vampire the only monster allowed to be attractive? I know Frankenstein is a bit dull, but women run from him. The Creature from the Black Lagoon only drowns his dates, and the Mummy is always mumbling. Zombies - no, they only want to eat your brain. You could date a Werewolf during the day. These are the things I think about.
I'm looking for Polaroid film - I know they stopped making it and I am a bit late to be searching, but is it possible to purchase some without enriching someone on Ebay?
I bought a walking foot for my machine, so when I get the nerve I will begin putting the quilt together.
My son has these as pets now; he said for 7-10 days. They are tent caterpillars, which I believe are a pest, so they will go back to the tree we found them on.
My husband found a job, which is good and bad. Bad because it's not a "good" job; it's a far drive and I don't know if we can afford the health insurance ($650 a month), but some money is better than no money, so he accepted the job. Of course, the day after he was laid off his neck hurt and his arm was numb. He ignored my suggestion to see a doctor right away and waited until the week before he started his new job. He has a herniated disk in his neck and is taking medication for it, which is helping but it's not back to normal. He is going to see a neurosurgeon for a recommendation for treatment. We've been a bit stressed. Why do these things seem to string together? Why couldn't this have happened the day before they laid him off, so he could have at least been on sick leave? We just press on.
I don't know if these are the same Finches every year, but someone makes a nest in my hanging basket and then I can't water it because I don't want to disturb the nest.
Why is one blue? Thanks Laurie; see her comment about the Cowbird and how she lays her eggs in another bird's nest to do all the work.
Kate, you won the book giveaway, please send me your address!
I hope you had a nice weekend.
